Chuck Barris’ sole purpose in life through his teenage years in Philadelphia only concerns promiscuity, but he is unsuccessful. Inspired by a television advertisement he moves to Manhattan to become a tour guide at NBC. He dreams of becoming famous in television, but is eventually fired from his job. Chuck moves back to Philadelphia and is able to become Dick Clark’s personal assistant on American Bandstand in 1961.

There, he writes the successful “Palisades Park” song with Freddy Cannon and falls in love with a woman named Penny Pacino. Banking Ach Chuck is given permission to pitch the concept for The Dating Game at the American Broadcasting Company (ABC); he receives $7,500 to create a television pilot for the studio. However, ABC abandons The Dating Game in favor of Hootenanny. Chuck then struggles with his life and succumbs to unsuccessful bar fights. He is noticed by a man named Jim Byrd, a CIA agent who recruits Chuck as an assassin.

Returning from a mission in Mexico, Chuck finds that Penny has conformed to the hippie movement. ABC decides to greenlight The Dating Game, and by 1967 the TV show is a phenomenon. Chuck takes another mission for the CIA in Helsinki, Finland, where he meets gorgeous agent operative Patricia Watson.

The Film: Solaris (2002). A psychiatrist still dealing with the loss of his wife, Chris Kelvin receives a disturbing video message from a friend and scientist, Gibarian, asking for Chris’ help and that he come to the enigmatic ocean world, Solaris. He agrees to go on the mission to Solaris as a last attempt to recover the crew. Kelvin, arriving at the space station, quickly learns that members of the crew have died (or even disappeared) under mysterious circumstances with the only two surviving members reluctant to explain the cause. After shockingly encountering his dead wife alive again, Chris discovers that Solaris has been creating physical replications of people familiar to each crew member

Donovan Donaly (Geoffrey Rush), a soap opera producer, comes home to find his wife, Bonnie (Stacey Travis), having an affair with a pool cleaner named Ollie (Jack Kyle). He brandishes a gun to shoot Ollie, but his wife stabs him in the rear with his own pointy Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award trophy. Ollie and Bonnie run away while Donovan shoots at them from a balcony, later taking pictures of his wounded behind as proof that his wife attacked him first.

Miles Massey (George Clooney) is the U.S.’s top divorce attorney, creator of the Massey Pre-Nup, a pre-nuptial agreement which has never been successfully challenged — meaning that no party to it can benefit financially in the event of a divorce. He becomes Bonnie’s lawyer, assuring her he will win the divorce case and leave Donovan with nothing.

During a trial hearing, he confides to his associate Wrigley (Paul Adelstein) that he is in the middle of a mid-life crisis, and is feeling bored with life. He compares himself with Attila the Hun, Ivan the Terrible, and Henry VIII, all of whom destroyed all their opponents. Miles has done everything, seen everything, bought everything; he is seeking the ultimate challenge.

At the beginning of Ocean’s Twelve, the eleven members of Ocean’s Eleven are living their lives separately off the fortunes of their Vegas casino heist in the first film. Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), the owner of the three casinos, confronts each member of the team in turn, demanding the team return his money, with interest. Benedict gives the team two weeks to come up with the money, which amounts to the original $160 million plus $38 million interest for a total of $198 million. The Ocean’s Eleven members realize they are short $97 million which they must get in two weeks.

Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and the team decide to stage another heist to pay off the debt. Being too ‘hot’ to work in the US they pick a European target: the world’s oldest stock certificate issued by the Dutch East India Company in 1602, worth approximately €2.5 million and kept in Amsterdam. While this amount will not pay their remaining debt in full, is enough to extend their deadline. The group manages to breach the security around the certificate, in part by physically lifting the building to achieve ‘line of sight’, but rival thief, François Toulour (AKA ‘The Night Fox’) (Vincent Cassel) beats them to the document and leaves a message for them.
